About Justice For Children Foundation
JFCF is involved in a wide range of activities to reach the largest portion of the community. The JFCF provides classes to the community on important safety topics:
JFCF works to raise community awareness and prevent future injuries to children by sponsoring charity events:
JFCF also holds educational classes on topics ranging from avertable brain injuries to the rights of families with injured children. JFCF is an active member in the Brain Injury Association and school educational and volunteer programs, helping to promote public awareness of child safety. The foundation also works with police and public safety organizations through sponsoring free photo and fingerprinting identification for children. To support community organizations, Howard has created the Justice Center, a 6200 square foot building that provides space for community service and non-profit organizations. The Justice Center is offered to charitable organizations free of charge. The Justice Center is used regularly for meetings by local high school students and other non-profit groups such as MADD.
Howard says, "Every time a child gets 'accidentally ' hurt, someone somewhere made a mistake (or was careless or negligent). Many injuries are caused by hazardous conditions that can be corrected, and unsafe behaviors that can be changed." He hopes that through community service and educating people, the Justice for Children Foundation will help change how communities think about public safety and how they protect their children. About Howard Spiva Howard Spiva may not look or sound like your stereotypical somber lawyer with his ponytail, pickup truck, and dog, BoJangles, but he is serious when it comes to protecting children. "The more you help others, the better your own life and the whole world become," says Howard. He believes there are no "accidents," only injuries that could have been prevented by correcting and changing unsafe behavior. That is why he founded the Justice for Children Foundation, and has been working diligently for child safety ever since. Howard was born and raised in Savannah, graduating from Armstrong University. He finished law school by working during the day and taking classes at night. By the age of twenty-four, he had not only become a lawyer, but also a real estate broker, a certified auto mechanic, and an airplane pilot. In his free time, he loves flying private planes and ultralights. Working hard and playing hard seem to be themes in Howard's life. His other hobbies run the gambit from racing watercraft and scuba diving to boxing, karate, and kickboxing. He believes that by keeping his mind and body fit, he will be able to give his best to his clients and the community. |
